NITRO Happenings
There has been a lot happen since my last entry two weeks ago.
I got a call early this morning from Paul B. (the guy who with Heather, his partner, and wife Denise, a huge Chiefs fan, own the Area Development rights to the state of Maine) inviting us to come to a party in Oakland celebtrating the founding members there. He said "It is kind of short notice, I thought I had until spring to plan, but the staff has already enrolled 233 members and are forcing me make good on my promise of a party to celebrate."
What a problem to have, too many members too quick.
Here is the Maine update:
- Oakland ME-Opened mid June 05-has 233 members
- Lewiston ME-Opened end of September-has 125 members
- Bangor ME-Opened las week-has already 41 members
Paul, Heather and staff are saving lives and having fun.
Great Job Paul, Heather and Staff.
I remember meeting Paul and Heather for the first time. It was late last spring and we had exchanged several weeks of information and the only time they could get to KC and check out NITRO in person was the weekend of the KC Small Business Gala where we were honored as Luminaries to KC Entrepreneurs. They arrived late and we did not have a real chance to visit until the next morning at Breakfast where we shared our passion for helping people get started in the fitness business and then to NITRO. Chuck and I were a little nervous as we had just started franchising and they were the first to come from out of town to see the NITRO concept. When Paul walked in his eyes lit up and he said "NIIIIIIICCE" Heathers compliment was "Wicked Cool", we were so relieved. They really buillt our confidence in the franchise business. If anyone in franchise could write a description of the ideal first franchisee, it would be a description of Heather and Paul. They are patient with our growing pains in franchising and and have created success for their staff, communities and members.
They were and still remain a driving force in our future.
A work in progress, several more clubs to build, more lives to save and full steam ahead!
Stay tuned and check the blog frequently as Paul has promised to devulge the secrets to his success and include pictures of the new Club.
There is not anything more gratifying in business than helping people feel better, look better and live healthier.
Let's shift NITRO gears and talk about what is going on in the middle of the country.
JOPLIN, MO

"Just what the doctor ordered" (I couldn't resist)
I want to paste a letter I recvd from the good Doctor below.
Mr. Bedell,
As a Fellowship Trained, Primary Care Sports Medicine Specialist I am truly impressed by the completeness of the Core circuit training program developed by Nitro Fitness. Stabilization of the body’s core is critical to working towards a healthy lifestyle. Current literature is beginning to reflect the impact of core stabilization not only in chronic disease states, but in injury reduction and prevention as well. This program will help my patients improve the long term quality of their everyday life by giving them the tools to reduce their risk factors.
We are excited to have the opportunity to join the Nitro Fitness family.
Professionally Yours,
John J Dougherty, D.O.
Clinical Associate Professor
Yeah!!
I have some great video of the opening week when the local news channel broadcast the morning news live from NITRO FITNESS in Joplin, unfortunately cannot attach to blogs. Anyhow, they are doing awesome at attracting and enrolling new NITRO members down there, so well in fact they are getting ready to finalize plans for John and Saras' NITRO # 2.
Will keep you updated.
Please list your comments, and successes, this is designed to be an outlet for good things that are happening to members of the NITRO Family!
Until next time, have a healthy and awesome day!
