Invest in YOUR Dream

I asked the original NITRO FITNESS franchisee the question " What made you decide to start your own business?" I then asked "What made you buy a franchise business?" and finally the million dollar question, "What made you buy a NITRO FITNESS Franchise?" and I have pasted his comments/remarks/answers below.

RE: Deciding to make the major life change…. Comfort to?????

Larry:
You are not the only person to ask me the question “what made you make the move?” or “are you making the right decision?” or “is it worth the risk?” I have family members, friends, and actual members who ask me these questions almost daily and I now that eight months has passed since making the decision, I can answer properly.

Last year I left a job that I had held for almost 10 years. I had a company car, nice expense account, all the benefits possible, five weeks vacation, and a very attractive salary. I really enjoyed my job, but didn’t always agree with management and felt like I wasn’t doing what I was capable of doing. I wasn’t being challenged enough and was beginning to believe I would never get ahead. I looked around in my community and took notice of who was successful, why were they successful, why were they admired?
The answer was almost always, they owned their business(s).

Everyone has heard the sayings, “If you don’t take chances in life, you’re not living”, or “life’s too short to settle” etc, these are true sayings and when I was considering the change, these really stuck out in my head. I am turning 40 and what do I have? I make a lot of money for my company, but what good does this do for my family and me? What is it going to take for me to get ahead and not settle? I decided I needed to own my own business and make it work. Although this decision was made a couple years ago, I still had to find the right business to get into. I did not want to just own a business, I wanted to make a difference, and I wanted to do something that consumers needed not just wanted. I wanted to get involved in a business that I could feel good about and enjoy. What is living if you can’t enjoy yourself everyday –at work and home? I finally came across an advertisement for Nitro Fitness and knew right then, this was for me. I made the decision that night on my computer, even before I went to Kansas and met the boys. I knew this was a needed concept, I knew I would enjoy it, and I knew I could make it successful.

Eight months have gone by now and let me explain the differences in my life. First of all, let’s start with the community. I feel like I have really started to make a difference in the communities that Nitro operates. I can’t tell you the feeling of joy I get when a member comes in smiling and jumping up and down saying he is off blood medications, or off diabetic meds. I love it when we measure their bellies and 4” have disappeared. The faces make it all so worth while. People in the community respect Nitro Fitness and ME now because it works and everyone knows it. It is amazing when someone ask me what I do for work. I LOVE IT WHEN THEY ASK THIS!!! It used to be, “I work for such and such, doing whatever”. Now I proudly say,”I own and operate my own business, Nitro Fitness.” People react way different now with this response. The feeling is awesome; the respect they give me is amazing. This alone is worth owning your own business. The respect everyone now gives me is different and I love it. I am one of those people in my community that people look up to and respect. I know it’s true, I can feel it, I hear it, and I am now living it.

Secondly and most importantly are my family and what they think and what they have gone through with me. My wife knew the risks and was behind me 100%. She knew I needed to do something different to get ahead. She knew I was just going to work everyday to do my job, but also knew I was not satisfied. She is really the one who told me to just do it; we will make it, take the chance. She tells me just about every week how proud of me she is and that is was the right decision. She works at a local hospital and everyone knows and respects her as the Nitro Fitness woman. She has gained much more respect and feels so much better and more confident in life.

However, the best part of this whole thing is my children. I have a 16 year old daughter and an 8 year old “daddy’s girl”. It brings tears to my eyes when my eight year old tells me how proud she is of me and how she loves Nitro Fitness. She tells me that this job is way better than that other one. She constantly brags about it at school and it has made me feel so good. She says the best part about it is that I am the boss now. I watch her walk in the gyms and her head is up, shoulders back, and I love it. My 16 year old has decided that she wants to go to college and study business so she can work with me. The first time she said that, I over heard her say that in a restaurant and I couldn’t have felt more proud than that. I looked at my wife and she shook her head and said, “That’s all she talks about now.”

So if anyone out there is in the same position I was, ask yourself if the above mentioned reasons would make you feel better in life. Forget about money for a minute and think about how it has changed my life and if you want the same. For these reasons alone, the change has been so worth it. Now I see the money and wealth I am building. I took one step back and 10 steps forward in 8 months! There is nothing like having someone hand you a check and know that this time, he is paying me. Remember, you only live once, do you want to make something of yourself?

Sincerely,

Paul

Again, please take a minute and let us know what motivates you, what your dream is.
